About Auto-Moderation Discord bots
Discord's built-in AutoMod already blocks keywords, mention spam and known scam links for free, so the reason to add a bot is what AutoMod cannot do: raid detection on join bursts, per-channel thresholds, invite and file filtering, and punishments that escalate from delete to mute to ban on repeat offenses.
Before you turn anything on, set a bypass role for staff and point the bot at one test channel. Aggressive filters catch regular members far more often than they catch raiders, and a blocklist written in a hurry will eat normal conversation. Check that every rule can be scoped or exempted rather than only switched on server-wide.
