About Logging Discord bots

Logging bots only see what Discord lets them see. Attributing a ban or a role change to the moderator who did it requires the View Audit Log permission, and logging the contents of a deleted or edited message requires the message content intent — without it you get a record that something was deleted but not what it said. Check both before assuming the bot has you covered.

Split the output across several channels rather than one firehose: member joins and leaves, message edits and deletes, and moderation actions each want their own. Add an ignore list for bot and command channels, and remember the log channel itself is the archive, so restrict who can delete in it.
