Best Logging Discord Bots

Logging bots write a record of what happened: message edits and deletions, joins and leaves, role and nickname changes, channel updates, and who performed each action. Splitting events across separate channels keeps the noisy ones from burying the ones you actually read.

Two limits to know. Attributing an action to a moderator requires View Audit Log, and Discord only exposes some events there. Deleted message content is recoverable only if the bot cached the message while online, so logs will have gaps around restarts, and most free tiers keep attachments for a short window or not at all.
