Reaction Roles Discord Bots

Reaction roles fail for one reason more than any other: the bot's role sits below the roles it is trying to hand out. Drag it above every self-assignable role first, give it Manage Roles, and test with a spare account before members get near it.

Button and dropdown menus have largely replaced actual reactions. They survive emoji being deleted, they let you label each option in plain words, and dropdowns hold far more choices in one message than a row of reactions ever did. Compare how many roles fit per message, whether options can be made mutually exclusive for things like pronoun or region picks, and whether the menu is editable later without rebuilding it.
