About Photography Discord servers
Photography servers are either galleries or workshops, and it is worth knowing which you joined. Galleries are for sharing, with a channel per genre and reactions as the response. Workshops run structured critique, where posting means asking for it and members explain what the frame is doing wrong.
Most communities split by discipline anyway: street, landscape, portrait, wildlife, astro and film each attract a different crowd, and film servers add developing, scanning and camera repair talk. Gear and buying advice is a constant, as are weekly challenge prompts. Check the self-promo rules, since most servers keep portfolio and Instagram links to one channel.
